LLIAM CARROLL’S Recovery UPDATE

December 15, 2022by Kylee Harvey, Beneficiary

Hello everyone, Kylee here. Just wanted to give you all a quick update. Lliam has been admitted to the hospital again due to blood clots in his legs and possibly his lungs. We thought he was experiencing soreness in his calf from working too hard at PT last week but as days went on, the pain was not getting any better as it should if it was a muscular issue and his leg began to swell. He experienced some shortness of breath and strange pain in his chest. We scheduled an ultrasound for this morning and were taken straight down to the ER. It’s not so simple to treat a blood clot for a patient who has a brain injury that is still healing because they have to worry about blood thinners causing the brain to bleed again. That being said, after several hours in the ER, the drs have decided to put Lliam on the blood thinners but need to keep him for at least 24 hours to monitor him. We are waiting for a room to open up. This will put his surgery to replace his skull off for 1-3 months, unfortunately. We had been expecting that to be done as soon as next week. Please keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming. Hopefully we can get him back home tomorrow afternoon as planned.
